SUSAN GILLESPIE
…Susan originally hails from County Mayo, Ireland and is affectionately known by her American audience as the ‘Sweetheart of Mayo’. She has won numerous awards in singing competitions throughout Ireland. Upon her arrival to the United States in 1987, Susan was featured in many concerts and festivals throughout the Tri-state area as well as Pennsylvania, Florida and Nashville, Tennessee. She was also a guest on the ‘Joe Franklin Show’. Susan headlined her own ‘Susan Gillespie Band’ until 1999 when she joined forces with Gerard Corbett and formed the band; ‘Susan and Gerard’. Along with her beautiful singing voice, Susan has the unique ability to entertain her audience with her comedic banter. Anyone who knows Susan knows that she has a quick wit and loves to make people laugh!
GERARD CORBETT
…Gerard was born in the Bronx and raised on Long Island in New York State. A talented multi-instrumentalist and singer, Gerard has been performing professionally since the age of 19. Among his many talents, Gerard plays keyboards, guitar, button accordion and harmonica. He is known for his fine tenor voice. Gerard has performed on virtually any venue ranging from pubs and private parties to festivals, concerts and cruise ships. Gerard was the leader of his own band ranging from solo performances to as many as five members. His merger with Susan Gillespie in 1999 was truly a match made in heaven.
Truly diverse and dynamic entertainers, today their repertoire consists of hundreds of songs ranging from Irish, Big Band, Country and Rock and Roll to Oldies, International, Holiday, Spiritual and Contemporary. Their comedic banter and stylish charm quickly enables them to get an audience actively involved with each and every performance. Whether the audience is singing along, dancing away, clapping their hands, tapping their feet or just listening and reminiscing, ‘Susan and Gerard’ have the uncanny ability to always leave them wanting more!!!
